Kaleidoscope Me by Hillary K. Grigonis is about a fourteen year old girl, Jadyn, whose mom died 2 years ago. In result of her mom’s death, Jadyn’s dad invites their crazy Great-Aunt Nadine to watch over her and her brother while he is at work, but it seems she does just the opposite. Aunt Nadine isn’t always ‘all there’, and will frequently believe she is in another place or time. When Aunt Nadine takes Jayden’s little brother, Trenton, out in a snowstorm and disappears, Jayden takes things into her own hands to find them. Throughout this book, it jumps from different time settings, describing what life was like before, after and during her mother’s death.

Opinion:

I think Kaleidoscope Me was a pretty good book. It kept me interested while reading, and went really in depth with what Jayden felt and thought. I thought it could get a little confusing when it was jumping around from month to month. It had very good character development in it and was very easy to relate to. I would recommend this book, especially if you are going through a loss of a family member or friend.
