Life is hard when you are a teenage vampire. Even as a vampire, he has problems like any other monster/kid. Nox has a crush on Lily the Werewolf, but is bullied by Chug the Thug.  Chug the Thug is demanding 50 dollars by the end of the week or Chug will tell everyone Nox likes Lily the Werewolf. And to top it all, the Battle of the Bands venue will not allow vampires to perform or even go to the event.  This is annoying and irritating for Nox since he is the lead singer of the band. He created the band, naming it Nox and the Day Breakers. He feels like he should be part of the band, even if he is a vampire.  Unfortunately, his friends kick him out and replace him with Lily. Nox’s crush is now replacing him in the band and she does not really know Nox and that he likes her. Will Nox have the girl of his dreams? Can he get 50 dollars in one week? Most of all, will he be able to rejoin the band that he created?

Opinion:

I did not like the book that much. It was not as funny as the reviews stated and did not appeal to me. I was expecting a kid to be leading a life as a dead kid, zombie like, but this was not the case.  Although it is fiction, I did not find it very amusing or entertaining.  It was very predictable which did not hold my attention.  I am more into action, mysteries and comedies.

I would recommend this book to boys and girls ages 8 and up that like romance and non-scary monster stories.
