In this suspenseful novel, Damien, AKA Renegade X, is the son of his famous hero father, and a villainous mother. As his powers develop, Damien decides that he wants to become a hero, and starts training at Heroesworth, a school for up and coming heroes. But because he is half villain, he starts to get punished for things not altogether wrong. Given the choice to continue at Heroesworth and become a League member, Damien must choose if this is the path he wants, or if he wants to join the Truth, his grandfather's association for villain rights. After running away to join the Truth, Damien realizes that his grandfather plans are to use him to attack his friends and family. Help is not coming from the league either though, as they are only attacking him. Damien must unite with his friends to prevent the villains and heroes from decimating each other while keeping him and his friends in one piece.

Opinion:

This book has a fast paced plot that a reader can really get into. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys reading about characters who display bravery and courage, or just admire heroes in general. I particularly enjoyed reading about Damien's grandfather, as he is trying to stand up for what he believes to be right. Although he is portrayed more of as a "bad guy" in this novel, from a different perspective, he could have been the heroic main character of the novel. I did think however, that the book was not discriptive enough about the distinction between heroes and villains. Altogether, I beleive this book is a thrilling read with powerful characters.
